be thankful for the life you got
2 really sad things happened today. something that one needs to learn from.
today was cleaning day in the new apartment. we, along with the cleaning lady, cleaned from around 2:30 until around 7:30 non-stop! most rooms are shiny now! we’ve postponed the living room and half of the other kitchen for tomorrow.
when we left the old apartment, we gathered a box of clothes that we didn’t want. while the cleaning lady was doing the dishes and we were helping her by wiping them, i asked if she had any children. she said that she has a son whose age is 20 and who lives in Philippine. without hesitation, i told her that we have some clothes if she wishes to have. if you just were there to see the expression on her face. she forgot how tired she was from the house, she forgot how big the house was, she forgot the pain. all she did was put on a huge smile on her face! she was so happy that she started cleaning more and more.
while she was still doing the dishes, my friend and i started throwing stuff that we knew we will not use and stuff which were old and not working anymore. these stuff included knives, forks, and other similar utensils. after finished with the dishes, the cleaning lady turned and saw us throwing things and she directly asked: “what are you doing?”. we told her that these are not working and are very old. she then asked: “are you sure you want to throw them?”. we told her yeah! and this is where she put another smile on her face and immediately started searching. the nice thing about it is that she has pride in herself! she didn’t just come up to us and said if she can’t take the stuff. she wanted to be 100% sure we wanted to get rid of them before taking. she took everything and this brings up the fact that:
a person’s trash is another one’s treasure
another thing that happened today occurred when i got in the parking getting ready to go to the mall to shave for tomorrow’s meeting. Couldn’t shave home because i forgot the shaving machine in the old house :/
as i got close to my car, 2 guys came up to me and asked if i would like to have my car cleaned every other day for a price of $33 / month. these guys actually work in the building. i found the deal pretty amazing! especially the fact that my car is black! BLACK CAR IN DUBAI is bad! amazing color when it comes to style but with the dust around here, forget it! so i told him that i’ll meet with you tomorrow so we can proceed accordingly. he said that he will be here when i come back from the mall. i didn’t believe him since it was already late. finished shaving and buying some groceries and came back home. While going down to the parking lot, i see the same guy sitting down between cars. i asked him more questions to see if he’s for real or some dude wanting to steal. it turns out that it’s an official thing where you sign a contract. the sad part is that he works from 9 PM till 6 AM! i then asked him when he sleeps. he said that he sleeps for couple of hours before going to the bank as a security guard or something to work there!
just imagine how boring his life is but he doesn’t care since he needs to make a living! just imagine how the cleaning lady’s daily life is cleaning houses all day. no interaction with anyone, no activities, growing old seeing her family once or twice a year! so many things to imagine which ends this post with the following:
what you need to do is be thankful for the life you got. stop looking at what you ain’t got and start being thankful for what you do got.

nice one brazer.
fork?
yeah! the one you took from her… she gave you these puppy eyes and you just took it away slapping her! Blood started dripping from her head!
Such a heartless person Z!
It’s nice how easy it is to come up with stories, huh?
Just kidding everyone, Z gathered a lot of clothes for her and was ready to give her anything she wanted.
“just imagine how boring his life is but he doesn’t care since he needs to make a living!”
The word ‘boring’ implies that they have choice to change their circumstances. Their fates in their home countries are a lot worse. To them, their life here is the best option they have and its a lot better than the life they would have been living back home.
[...] in early february, i wrote about “being thankful for the life you got“. i got inspired by observing people around me and now comes [...]
People tend to overlook the good things they have in their lives.
Its always good to have a reminder once in a while. And when you do, you get hit by a wave of feelings and realization that leave you breathless.
But comes tmw, forgetfulness moves back in without a thought in the world..
I like this entry mb, its says something about you.
