Yahoo! and Twitter strike content-sharing deal

Yahoo! and the micro-blogging site Twitter have struck a content-sharing deal, they announced Wednesday — a plan that will share real-time tweets with the 600 million users in Yahoo’s global network.

The partnership will let people access their Twitter feeds on Yahoo! properties including their home pages, Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo! Sports and others — making it easier to tweet or check on the people they follow.

Users will be able to update their Twitter status from Yahoo! sites and share content from Yahoo! in their Twitter stream.

Yahoo! Search also will be including real-time Twitter updates.

my car stopped in the middle of the road

as the title says, my car stopped in the middle of the road.

here’s what happened:

i had a meeting scheduled with volkswagen @ 3:00 pm. i left home an hour early since i live in jumeirah lake towers and their office is all the way near the airport- terminal 2. i got in my car and checked the gauge and it seemed that the car would be able to @ least take me to the petrol station near Wafi.

i was driving while listening to music and as soon as i got under the tunnel before Wafi, the car starts making noises and starts to stop. i was still convinced that it had nothing to do with the fuel so kept driving until it got to a point where the car stopped responding to everything i did. 0.o

my little baby stopped in the middle of the road! i was lucky enough that there was a petrol station 1.5 km away. got out of the car and started running. i arrived @ the station sweating from top to bottom since the temperature in Dubai today was 43! i then found an empty 4 liters gallon and asked the dude to fill it. while he was filling it, i started asking all taxi drivers there if they could drop me back to the car. it was already 3:00 pm and most of them finished their duty! after asking around 5 taxi drivers, i finally found one to drop me back.

we drove back to my car, filled the 4 liters and drove back to the same station to fill more. all of this took an hour and a half!

i arrived to the meeting @ 4:30 smelling like gasoline but the good thing is that the VW crew were understandable when i called them as soon as the car stopped.

moral of the post: don’t assume that the amount of gasoline available “may” be enough. when you have a long trip, fill it up!

i know i know

visitors,

yes yes! i know! it’s been a long time i haven’t posted anything! a similar post to the previous one below o.0

many times i wanted to write about many things but work just took over my day/night.

a lot of posts regarding work, life, thoughts will be posted! one thing i’m sure about is that once i come back, i’ll make sure to post @ least twice a week!

tomorrow i’ll make sure i’ll post something.

where have i been? huh?

i know i know! 1 month and 11 days without blogging! what a shame!

the reason for this was because i was working on my small baby : simply confess

in addition to that, the usual work was taking much of my time along with the workout at the gym and some sports.

but anyways, enough with the excuses. i’ll be back tomorrow with a new post about my digital world. by this i mean, a summary of the sites i follow on a daily basis, sites/companies we can do business with, and last but not least, a summary on what’s going on with simply confess :)

it’s almost 2 a.m. and so i need to get some rest.

bonne nuit readers…

why not create a media city in lebanon?

i’m sure “impossible” is the first thing that comes to your mind after reading this title.

when you hear the term “city“, some of the terms you may automatically think about is: “space”, “location”, “utilities”, “land usage”, “transportation”, etc.

when you hear the term “media“, some of the terms you may automatically think about is: “technology”, “advertising”, “digital”, “internet”, “super fast connection”, etc.

when you hear the term “lebanon“, some of the terms you may automatically think about is: “war”, “instability”, “insecurity”, “damage”, etc. which drives you to think that creating such a city in this country is impossible.

well think again :)

Hervé Cuviliez, Founder and Managing Director of Kuv Capital wrote about a great new project that they’re launching in Beirut, Lebanon. This project will be the creation of a Media City in Lebanon.

No time to rest so they have already spotted 3 places around Beirut, talked to investors, convince 6 digital related companies and a media group to move in, etc..

fallen down? can’t seem to find the strength to get back up?

one thing i love to observe is the human behavior. i can stay days and days just observing different kinds of behavior and their reactions to the things around them.

back in early february, i wrote about “being thankful for the life you got“. i got inspired by observing people around me and now comes this.

i was on msn chating with my sister since we’re in different countries and she sent me a link to a video on youtube.
an AMAZING motivational video about a person who’s name is Nick Vujicic and…

good old days are back

it’s been a while i haven’t posted anything here. the reason was because i was hoping to redesign my own version of mb’s world but didn’t have much time. the concept is there but still need to learn some photoshop effects to match what i have in mind. anyways, that’s now what this post is about. this post is about going back to the good old days. yes, my friends, which is the gym in the early morning.

going to the gym in the early morning is one of the best feelings out there.

some of the advantages are:

  • burn more fat when you go on empty stomach
  • feel fresh the whole day
  • more productive throughout the day
  • have a better shape
  • feel much better

i use to that a year and a half ago. But stopped as soon as i got to Dubai due to the new lifesteyle and all. but now, after moving to the new apartment and finishing a lot of pending duties, i don’t have any more excuses for not hitting the gym in the morning. even though i hate coffee, all it takes is one espresso shot to do the job. gives you enough energy to workout hard.

below you will find 2 pics of how my back was after going to gym on daily basis back in 2007. i wanted to be more cut but can’t blame me for loving food :)

it’s almost 1:30 AM now and i should get some rest to lift some weight @ 7:00 AM.

good night readers!
